...if your name is Joanne, that is. One of you flunked that particular sleuthing session and the rest of you didn't even try! Tomorrow I fly to Lilongwe, Malawi to assist one of the trainers I work for with a week-long financial education training-of-trainers (TOT). I'll be providing administrative support, circulating during the training to give feedback and clarify instructions, and (shh) I might even get to teach a few of the basic skills sessions. As Malawi's capital, Lilongwe is a fairly quiet city in a politically quiet country. We're currently working with CARE Malawi to equip their staff to teach financial education topics to members of Village Savings and Loan Associations. Since it's currently the hot rainy season, I'm prepared for mud, rain, temperatures in the mid-80s, and lots of diseased mosquitoes. (Just kidding, mom! Except not really. I'll pack lots of DEET.)
I arrive back in the states on the 30th - stay tuned for photos. And if you want me to bring you back presents from the big central market in Lilongwe's Old Town, you should leave me a comment...

Presents! Did you mention presents? Always, a kid a heart...I'd love a very small token. :) Love you lots! I'll be praying for your safety and can't wait to hear all about your trip. We need to get back down to DC very soon. There are pub chairs with Bill's name on them!
I like presents too! Especially necessary given the maternal stress I must endure imagining you being attacked by diseased mosquitoes and other nasty critters.... Think bright colors. ;) xoxo Love you LOTS!
Hakuna Metata....(had to say it once more)
It will say "anonymous" but I think you know who I am!
